Improved Operational Efficiencies, Access, Security and Preservation of Records
Lawrence County, Pennsylvania is focused on implementing the lastest technological developments to provide new and innovative ways to better serve their constituents. Janet Kalajainen, Register of Wills & Recorder of Deeds of Lawrence County, has been serving the public in this role since 1982 and was an employee in this office for 10 years prior.
Ms. Kalajainen has been instrumental in ensuring the office has the latest technology and is compliant with all regulatory mandates. She has seen the office procedures evolve from handwriting, typing and microfilming to computerization and digitization. As a leader on the County's Records Improvement Committee, President of PSAECO (Pennsylvania State Association of Elected County Officials), and President of the PA Association of Register of Wills and Orphans' Court, Ms. Kalajainen has been focused on three major goals for her office:
- Improved Operational Efficiencies and Reporting
- Improved Access to Records while Maintaining Security & Integrity
- Preservation of Records
In order to achieve these goals, Ms. Kalajainen decided to partner with RecordFusion to upgrade her records management system and digitize all of the records in her office.
In January of 2006, Lawrence County went live with RecordFusion's Electronic Records Management System, CountyFusion. Ms. Kalajainen was very involved in the design and the customization for her office.
